Eta-Aquarid Shooting Stars
The shooting star shower of the Eta-Aquarids is active every year between 19 April and 28 May - this year, however, it reaches its peak in the night from 5 to 6 May. Up to 50 shooting stars per hour will be seen!
During this time, the Earth crosses the orbit of Halley's comet. Its fragments burn in the earth's atmosphere and thus give us the spectacle of nature. The radiant of the shooting stars, i.e. the apparent starting point, is located in the constellation Aquarius. They are named after its brightest star "Eta Aquarii".
Visibility
A place far away from much light offers the best conditions for the observation of the shining starry sky. Also pay attention to local weather forecasts, as clouds can block the view!
